The conference\, which runs from November 12th to 17th\, will present high-impact scientific and technological advances in materials and devices based on group-III nitride semiconductors\, and feature plenary sessions\, parallel topical sessions\, poster sessions and an industrial exhibition. ICNS-14 will begin with an introductory plenary session in which the current status and trends of nitride material research and device development will be reviewed\, setting a basis for the discussions over the course of the conference. The following parallel topical sessions will provide opportunities for in-depth discussions via a vigorous program of invited/contributed talks and poster presentations covering the latest results on nitrides\, including material processing\, physics\, devices\, theory\, and novel ideas. \nSilanna UV is set to discuss the Si-doping characteristics of GaN/AlN SPSL structures used in their far UVC LEDs. Far UVC has emerged as a promising solution for safe\, effective\, and contactless disinfection. The efficacy of sub-240 nm LEDs in deactivating a wide array of pathogens has made them particularly intriguing. The background to this meeting is the enormous worldwide impact associated with indoor airborne disease transmission. Covid-19 has made us all realize that new and better approaches are needed to prevent worldwide disruptions from this and the next pandemic\, as well as from yearly seasonal flu epidemics. Far-UVC light has shown a lot of promise to be the disruptive technology that is so badly needed. The background here is that conventional UVC light (wavelength 254 nm) has been known for decades to be efficient at killing viruses and bacteria in the air and on surfaces\, but it can’t be used directly in occupied public spaces as it is a potential health hazard to skin and eyes. All the far-UVC researchers in this highly multi-disciplinary field to come together for the first time to discuss latest results and to plan for the future. \nSilanna UV will talk about AlGaN based far UVC LEDs in general suffer from poor carrier injection\, low light extraction and high drive voltage due to the inherit limitations of high Al-content AlGaN. To overcome these issues\, a short period superlattice (SPSL) based far UVC LED structure is proposed.

By using our revolutionary SPSL technology\, Silanna UV is able to overcome many challenges facing the making of far UVC LEDs\, to provide high power and reliable LEDs for many different applications. ICULTA is an International Conference on UV LED Technologies & Applications – ICULTA was initiated by the ‘Advanced UV for Life’ network. Together with the ‘International Ultraviolet Association’ (IUVA)\, the conference has been held twice so far – in 2018 and 2021. With ICULTA 2023 is already an internationally recognized and appreciated conference series. \nSilanna UV will talk about our high power 235nm far UVC LED using SPSL technology. AlGaN based far UVC LEDs in general suffer from poor carrier injection\, low light extraction\, and high drive voltage due to the inherit limitations of high Al-content AlGaN. Silanna UV will display SF1 235nm far UVC LED series and SN3 255nm deep UVC LED series at the exhibition.
